GenAc graduates to JSE Main Market

General Accident Insurance Company Jamaica Limited (GenAc) achieved a historic milestone when it graduated its listed ordinary shares from the junior market to the main market of the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).

The accomplishment took place last Friday, September 29, and underscores GenAc’s unwavering commitment to growth.

Speaking at the graduation listing ceremony, Dr Marlene Street Forrest, managing director of the JSE, welcomed GenAc to mark the official entry of the insurance provider to the big leagues.

Since its initial listing on the JSE Junior Market a decade ago, GenAc has experienced exponential growth, with its gross written premium surging nearly seven-fold during this period, solidifying GenAc’s position as a market leader in Jamaica, Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago.

Sharon Donaldson, managing director of GenAc, said: “We believe that this milestone reflects the company’s ability to adapt, evolve, and thrive in a dynamic market while maintaining the highest standards of governance and transparency.”
