GenXS Carnival, a leading provider of carnival costumes and accessories, will be opening its new showroom at the Summit House, formerly known as Knutsford Court Hotel, in New Kingston.
The showroom offers potential masqueraders the opportunity to view costumes up close and inquire about sizes and accessories.

WiPay, the official payment partner for GenXS, has also provided terminals on-site to facilitate card payments for those who decide to purchase costumes at the showroom.
On display are all of the GenXS sections, including ‘Moonlit Orchid’, designed by Natalie Fonrose, ‘Coral Dreams’ and ‘Summer Sunsets’, designed by Shawn Dhanraj, ‘Mystique Peaks’, designed by Rhion Romany, and sections featuring both male and female costume options, ‘Luminous Lagoon’, ‘Chasing Waterfalls’, ‘Sunken Treasure’, all designed by David Dewar, and ‘Jewel of the Jungle’, designed by Jessica Campbell.

Female costumes start at US$575, with the most expensive being US$1,545, and male costumes start at US$450, going up to US$1,075, with all accessories and upgrades included. T-shirt packages for those who would like to participate in the road march festivities but cannot be in full costume are also available for purchase at US$350.

“Return to Paradise” is the theme for Jamaica Carnival 2023, with each costume inspired by iconic Jamaican locations such as Dunn’s River, Blue Lagoon, Negril’s 7-mile beach, Blue Mountain, and Glistening Waters. Mala Morrison, Creative Director of GenXS, said: “The showroom is an opportunity for those who are unsure about participating in carnival to see the intricate details and materials of our costumes, especially for female masqueraders.”

The showroom features a spacious and bright layout, making it easy for customers to browse. Visitors can also take advantage of the knowledgeable staff who are available to assist with queries and costume selection.
The GenXS Carnival Jamaica Showroom is open Monday through Thursday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Friday from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, and Saturday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

On Fridays, the showroom closes at 10:00 pm to host a ‘Soca Lyme’ event in partnership with Summit House, where visitors can enjoy Soca music around the pool, view costumes, and purchase drinks while immersing in the vibe.
“We invite everyone to come and experience the energy of our Soca Lyme event while also getting a chance to see our costumes up close and personal,” said Kibwe McGann, sponsorship manager and director of GenXS.
