Some of the world’s most famous faces arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art last evening (May 2), as they celebrated one of the biggest nights in fashion, The Met Gala.

The star-studded event, which sees the likes of music royalty, politicians, and those from film, TV and sport, is held annually and first begun in the year 1948.

The ideal place to display one’s sense of fashion, the 2022 theme for the annual fundraising gala was dubbed Gilded Glamour.

According to the Daily Mail, the Gilded Age was a tumultuous period in American history after the Civil War that extended from roughly 1870 to 1900.

This was an era of cultural change including rapid industrialisation and minimal government regulation, which gave upper classes the opportunity to accumulate great wealth while most of the working class lived in poverty.

Let us take look at a few of the memorable looks from last night’s star studded event.
