
The GraceKennedy Foundation will posthumously release a book on late Jamaican businessman James Moss-Solomon.
The publication is titled ‘James ‘Jimmy’ Moss-Solomon: His Thoughts, Ideas and Perspectives, compiled by Glynis Salmon through Bala Press.
According to the foundation, this pivotal work is anticipated to celebrate both the book and Moss-Solomon’s enduring legacy in Jamaican and Caribbean society.
The meticulously curated compilation, features over 100 thought-provoking articles and essays, offering profound insights into a wide range of topics that have shaped the region’s social, intellectual and economic landscape.
The content is expertly divided into four main themes: society and culture; leadership, governance and development; economy, finance and trade; and management. These sections delve into various sub-themes, including elections, industry, law and order, education, sports and sportsmanship, and the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Walter Scott, founder of Public Opinion (publicopinion.news), the original platform for the featured articles, celebrates Jimmy as “a multifaceted intellectual giant, embodying roles from thinker, scholar, researcher, historian, teacher, philosopher, visionary, prophet, storyteller to humorist, all captured vividly through his writings, and which forms a legacy that will continue to inspire and influence society for generations to come”.

His tenure as a senior executive at GraceKennedy; founding director of the GraceKennedy Foundation, and the inaugural chairman of the Grace and Staff Community Development Foundation, stands as a testament to his unwavering commitment.

Moss-Solomon died at the University Hospital of the West Indies on January 4, 2022, at the age of 70.
