GraceKennedy Money Services (GKMS) has advised that over 50 of its retail locations across the island remain open for business, despite the ongoing weather conditions associated with the passage of Tropical Storm Rafael.

The GKMS locations are in areas unaffected by severe weather conditions and became operational since 11:00 am today (November 5).

GKMS offers Western Union money transfer and Bill Express services. Additionally, 10 locations are open for FX Trader Cambio transactions.

“To see which location is open in their area, customers are being encouraged to check gkmsonline on Instagram and Facebook. For those unable to venture out due to inclement weather, GKMS offers convenient digital solutions,” the financial services company stated.

GKMS’ online solutions include the GK One App with which customers can easily pull down their Western Union transfers with just their MTCN and pay bills in the app through Bill Express for free, by using the funds in their digital wallet.

“We understand the importance of financial accessibility, especially during challenging times,” said Grace Burnett, GraceKennedy Money Services CEO.

“Our dedicated team is working diligently to ensure that our services remain available to the public. We encourage everyone to prioritise their safety and remain indoors until conditions improve. The company will continue to monitor the weather situation and provide updates as needed.

As of noon, the Meteorological Service of Jamaica lifted the Tropical Storm Warning for the island but has maintained a flash flood watch until 5 pm this evening, as Rafael moves away from Jamaica towards the Cayman Islands and Cuba.

Tropical Storm Rafael did not make landfall on Jamaica but its outer bands have delivered three to six inches of rainfall across the country.
