Red Hot and reigning champion Glenmuir High will face former champions Kingston College (KC) in the marquee match-up of the ISSA all-island Champions Cup following the official drawing on Tuesday evening.

In the other games, Jamaica College (JC) will meet McGrath High; Ocho Rios High take on St Catherine High and Hydel High versus Garvey Maceo High,

All quarter-final matches will be played at the Catherine Hall Complex in St James on Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23.

The tournament, which started in 2014 as the Flow Super Cup is in its 10th year with the first winners—JC (2014, 2022) and KC (2017, 2019)—being the most successful schools with two titles each.

The urban schools have dominated winning six of the nine years courtesy of St George’s College (2015) and Wolmer’s Boys (2016), and also winning the first four years.

Cornwall College was the first rural champion in 2018 followed by Clarendon College in 2021 and Glenmuir in 2023. There was no competition in 2020 due to the Covid pandemic.

The competition pits the top eight schools in the island with the top four schools from the daCosta Cup and the best four from the Manning Cup in a knockout format.

There will be two first-time entrants in Ocho Rios High from St Ann and St Catherine High from St Catherine.

Glenmuir High stunned hot favourites Clarendon College last year and will start favourites to lift this year’s Cup but they face a most formidable opponent in KC that on their day can beat anyone.

It’s a matchup between two of the most prolific teams in school football this season and the stage is set for a mouthwatering clash between two schools formed by the same person in Bishop Percival Gibson.

JC hit top form at the right time and they along with Glenmuir and KC are the three teams expected to lift the trophy this season.
