Ian Burrell, the world’s only recognised Global Ambassador for the Rum category, recently toured Clarendon Distillers Limited – home of Monymusk Plantation Rums.
The private tour was led by Production Manager Flovia Riley and Senior Blender and Quality Assurance Manager, Robert Gordon.

During the visit to the distillery, the Global Rum Ambassador observed the operations at the factory, including the rum fermentation processes of column distillation and pot still distillation, and the cane farming operations.
He was also introduced to the distillery’s team and treated to a rum tasting session of the various Monymusk Plantation Rums expressions.

Clarendon Distillers Ltd directly and indirectly employs over 300 people and produces nine million litres of alcohol, most of which is exported. The distillery, which is a part of National Rums of Jamaica Limited’s portfolio, is one of the largest rum distilleries in Jamaica and home to Monymusk Plantation Rum.

Ian Burrell not only created the world’s first international Rum festival (The UK RumFest), he also inspired the birth of rum festivals around the world including the Jamaica Rum Festival.
He is the Spirited Awards seven-time final four nominee and 2018 winner of the International Brand Ambassador of the year at the prestigious Spirited Awards.

In 2020 Ian was voted 10th most influential person in the World Drinks industry by Drinks International.
