Jamaican information technology company, tTech Limited is finding it hard to complete some important projects, as it is still hurting by the ongoing global supply issues.

During the June quarter, the Christopher Reckord-led, Jamaican-listed company admitted that the quarter was very challenging, given its experience regarding supply chain challenges, which continue to impact its ability to complete certain assignments. In addition, the company had to endure a one‐off extraordinary item, which negatively impacted its revenues by J$6.0 million.

These challenges resulted in tTech recording a loss of J$6.4 million for the period. However, tTech earned revenues of J$87.3 million, a decrease of 19.1 per cent compared to the corresponding period in 2021 (J$107.9 million).

Total expenses for the period were J$93.9 million, a decrease of 10.4 per cent compared to the same period in 2021 (J$104.9 million).

Highlights during the quarter

During the review period, the company ramped up customer-facing visits, as COVID‐19 measures continue to be relaxed.  tTech used this opportunity to increase its cybersecurity awareness campaign by providing customers & prospects with a roadmap to reduce cybersecurity risks.

This has had a positive impact on our pipeline as interest in the company’s Advanced Cybersecurity Services continues to grow. During the period, the company also executed its major annual marketing event, TechCon by tTech.

This event was fully online again this year and with just under 800 registrants from 16 counties and a higher‐than‐average attendance rate; this has been the biggest event in its five-year history.

TechCon by tTech 2022 featured speakers such as Microsoft’s Chief Digital Officer Jacky Wright, who was recently named the United Kingdom’s most influential Black person;  Daryl Vaz, Minister of Science, Energy and Technology; Senator  Aubyn Hill, Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce;  Floyd Green, minister without portfolio in the Office of the Prime Minister; and Richard Byles, Bank of Jamaica governor.

CEO Christopher Reckord says tTech will shortly be following up with organizations that attended the event and expressed interest in its services with the aim of solving their IT problems and converting them to lifetime business partners.
