After an ‘exciting’ first leg in South Florida, president of the People’s National Party (PNP) Mark Golding and his delegation of the senior leadership of the party, continue on their tour of the Jamaican Diaspora in the United States.
During the first leg, the delegation, which included Senator Donna Scott-Mottley, Dr Angela Brown-Burke, Dayton Campbell, Senator Peter Bunting, Nekeisha Burchell, and Kisha Anderson, met with influential leaders and Government officials in South Florida, many of whom are of Jamaican descent.
These meetings allowed the delegation to engage in discussions about US-Jamaica relations and the welfare of Jamaicans living in Florida.
South Florida was a fantastic experience for the delegation as scores of Jamaicans came out to celebrate Jamaica’s Diamond Jubilee with party leader Mark Golding and the PNP.
Jamaicans, clad in black, green and gold, were treated to a magnificent celebration of Jamaica’s global influence at the Miramar City Hall in true Jamaican style. This event culminated with a street dance, which closed out the Florida leg of the tour.
Golding, along with Scott-Mottley, Brown-Burke, Campbell, Burchell and Anderson, visited Georgia for the second leg, where they visited popular Jamaican establishments and met Jamaicans within the Stone Mountain area. The team engaged in several activities, including private fundraisers and a celebratory church service.
Golding also greeted the radio waves of Atlanta with an interview on WRFG Radio.

Lisa Hanna will join the delegation for the much anticipated third leg of the tour, which began on Monday (July 18) in Washington DC.
It promises to be an insightful exchange, as the team continues to learn about the experiences and accomplishments of Jamaicans in the diaspora and share with them the PNP’s plan for the future of Jamaica and Jamaicans across the world.
