Collin Morikawa ended a two-year PGA Tour win drought with a thrilling victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am, sealing the title with a birdie on the final hole.
The American had led comfortably but saw his advantage shrink as Australia’s Min Woo Lee birdied 18, and Morikawa bogeyed 17, briefly leaving them tied at 21 under alongside Austria’s Sepp Straka.
After a tense 20-minute delay caused by strong winds affecting other players, Morikawa hit a precise approach onto the green and tapped in a short putt for a 67, finishing at 22 under to clinch the trophy. Earlier, he had surged with back-to-back birdies on 15 and 16, while overnight leader Akshay Bhatia fell back with a level par 72, ending at 19 under.
England’s Tommy Fleetwood had a late chance for 21 under but missed an eagle chip on the last, finishing fourth alongside Scott Scheffler. Defending champion Rory McIlroy posted a flawless 64 with eight birdies to finish 17 under, tying with England’s Matt Fitzpatrick for another impressive performance.
