Member of Parliament for East Central, St Catherine Alando Terrelonge has announced that a new mobile police station has been situated in the Gregory Park community.

The mobile station is strategically located near Gulf and Cottage Drive in Gregory Park, an area that has been troubled by acts of violence in recent times.

“This development represents our government’s unwavering commitment to the safety and security
of our citizens. It demonstrates a government that listens to the concerns of its people, that values
their safety as a priority, and that refuses to let fear and violence dictate the course of our future,” he said.

Terrelonge gave the update during his contribution to the state of constituency debate in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, November 12.

He also acknowledged the work of Minister of National Security, Horace Chang, Senior Superintendent of Police Christopher Phillips and the team of officers at the St Catherine South Police Division who worked tirelessly to get the mobile police post up and running.

“The new post symbolises a community-centred approach to crime fighting, fostering a culture where police officers work alongside residents, listen, engage and build the trust needed to create lasting peace. By empowering both our citizens and law enforcement, we are creating a unified front against crime. In a community like Gregory Park, which has long faced its share of challenges, this station will serve as a beacon of reassurance, signalling that no community is forgotten, and no concern goes unheard. It is an investment in a safer, more resilient Gregory Park, a place where families can thrive, businesses can grow, and children can play without fear,“ Terrelonge said.

water supply system in Kingston and St. Andrew (KSA) that a relaxation of the current water
supply regulations will take effect on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

This adjustment follows a sustained period of rainfall over the past two weeks, which has
resulted in significant improvements in inflows to the Hermitage Dam. Storage levels have
increased from below 65 per cent to approximately 90 per cent, allowing the Commission to move forward with the restoration of normal water supply arrangements.

Reading Time: 3 minutesThe Police Civilian Oversight Authority (PCOA) has reported that there is no evidence of a tuberculosis (TB) outbreak at police lock-ups in Jamaica’s Corporate Area, contradicting earlier concerns raised during the trial of defendants linked to the so-called Tesha Miller faction of the Klansman gang.

The infection scare prompted premature adjournments during the second sitting of the trial on February 5 after reports surfaced of possible infections at three lock-ups. The situation was considered serious enough for presiding judge Justice Dale Palmer to order that all 25 defendants in the matter receive medical attention. The judge also directed that defendants housed in facilities suspected of infections be relocated for the duration of the proceedings.
