Gregory Roberts, the man who was found guilty of murdering 15-year-old Shineka Gray, was today, April 12, sentenced to life in prison.

He will not be eligible for parole until he has served 42 years, 9 months and 21 days in prison.

The verdict was handed down in the St James Circuit Court by presiding judge, Bertram Morrison.

Roberts was found guilty in January for the murder of the teen.

Gray, a grade-10 student of Green Pond High School in St James, was found with multiple stab wounds in bushes in Irwin, on February 1, 2017.

Roberts and Mario Morrison were arrested and charged in connection to the killing. Morrison pleaded guilty to the murder in September 2022, and was sentenced to life in prison.
