Jamaica’s largest security group, Guardsman, has broadened its range of security offerings by employing digital technology with iProtect.
This do-it-yourself personalised security solution is easy to install and provides an instant notification if anything is detected.
A wireless digital system, iProtect can connect with Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant with one-touch control that remains if Wi-Fi or power goes down.
With iProtect, Guardsman has a dedicated professional team on hand 24/7.

The iProtect product range includes the Z-wave Smart Bulb, 16F Hardwire to wireless converter, a panic remote key and a smart plug for appliances.
Speaking about Guardsman’s iProtect suite of solutions, Nicholas Benjamin, director of operations, said: “iProtect has a military grade encryption data system so you don’t have to worry about privacy issues. Your business is your business and it will stay that way. No idlers, hackers can get in and create mischief. It is a very secure system.
“Now that is very important to me, the privacy aspect as much as the physical security of my family, my house, my property. That reassurance and simplicity that iProtect affords and I am speaking from experience here is the best in home security. I highly recommend it.”
iProtect can also be used to secure business premises. With crime at an all-time high in Jamaica, it provides real time updates and can be used by people who have elderly parents. By using your smartphone, one can monitor flood sensors, panic buttons, window and door sensors.

Managing Director of iProtect Renee Menzies McCallum pointed out that iProtect is not just a security system but an integrated smart security system. So how does that differ from a regular wireless system?
“It is easy to install and has a clean modern look. It is SMART so you can also control your lights, AC, all your appliances from the app. You have it all right in your hand -what’s happening? Why did it go off? I can see what’s causing a problem. It’s both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled.
“We try to make our systems very simple because we want to ensure that the payment options are not too significant for people who cannot afford big upfront security costs. One of the best features of iProtect is that you don’t have to find a big investment to completely wire your house for it to be secure. You can do it for as little as J$6,000 a month,” said the iProtect boss.
We believe that through this partnership, we can make digital security solutions available across the length and breadth of Jamaica.”
Flow Business’s Mark Green
Mark Green, of Flow Business, said his company was committed to working with the Guardsman Group because of the longstanding relationship it has with the security company.
“It’s our belief that the iProtect solutions can transform the way home security is managed in the digital era. We believe that through this partnership, we can make digital security solutions available across the length and breadth of Jamaica,” Green said.

“We have consistently invested in our network to bring connectivity to Jamaicans, especially in unserved and underserved communities and as the largest communications and entertainment provider in Jamaica, we are well suited to support iProtect and these solutions.”
