The police are reporting that a person of interest has been apprehended in relation to the triple murder in Salt Spring, St James, which claimed the lives of two schoolboys and a man.

Reports are that the boys met their demise after the taxi in which they were travelling home from school was shot up by gunmen along the Flower Hill main road in Salt Spring on Monday, November 6.

According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), the apprehension resulted from a coordinated, intelligence-led operation carried out by its operatives, in collaboration with the Jamaica Defence Force, in Barrett Town, St James on Friday, November 17, between 3:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

“The joint security forces swiftly entered the premises, conducting a comprehensive search. The person of interest was found and detained without any issues. He is currently in custody, contributing to ongoing investigations,” the JCF said.

The identity of the suspect has not been revealed.

The JCF also said that a maintenance worker at a guest house was also detained during the operation. His identity was not revealed by the police either.
