Reggae and dancehall artiste Kiprich is a happy man today as he celebrates another year of life.

Born Marlon Jaro Plunkett on March 2, 1979, in Linstead, St Catherine, Kiprich or Kippo as he is affectionately called, is known for using music as a medium to display his comedic storytelling skills.

The artiste formerly known as Crazy Kid has had a succession of number-one dancehall hits throughout his career.

His first hit was Leggo Di Bwoi which was released while the upcoming artiste was still a student in high school.

His debut track was followed by Mad Sick Head No Good which is a collaboration with fellow dancehall artiste Predator.

Kiprich is also a versatile lyricist. As a writer, he created chart-topping singles for a steady onslaught of producers and artistes and soon became highly sought after by his musical peers.

He was the wordsmith behind Elephant Man’s Jook Gal, whose remix with Kiprich himself, Lil Jon and The East Side Boyz entered the charts in 2003.

It was this collaboration that provided Kiprich with the mainstream, crossover recognition that he deserved with MTV and BET among the broadcast outlets that streamed the mega-hit record.
