

Today marks a special day for Jamaican dancehall artiste Mavado as the Settle Down singer celebrates his 41st birthday.
Throughout his career, Mavado, born David Constantine Brooks, has released multiple party anthems and has done international collaborations with the likes of Nicki Minaj, Wyclef Jean, DJ Khaled, Laza Morgan and Future, just to name a few.

The former Gully Gaad specialises in dancehall and is known for producing several hits. The artiste was previously signed to Cash Money Records, but he’s currently signed to We the Best Music Group.
Raised in the St Andrew community of Cassava Piece, Bounty Killer was one of his early influences. When the talented teen was just 15, Bounty Killer became his mentor and dancehall legend, Julian Jones-Griffith, began managing his career. His breakthrough single, Real McKoy, was released in 2004.

He has released several albums, including Gangsta for Life: The Symphony of David Brooks, Want War and Mr Brooks…A Better Tomorrow.
