Today (September 7) is businessman and People’s National Party (PNP) stalwart Peter Bunting’s birthday.

He turns 65 today, but his looks and physique belie his years. The gym work and diet have definitely paid off!

Earlier this week, he won the Manchester Southern seat in the 2025 General Election. This is a return to the winner’s circle after surprisingly losing to Rhoda Crawford in the Manchester Central seat in 2020, which he had held for three terms.

Today must be a bittersweet day for Peter Bunting—bitter that the PNP came so close to winning the general election (doubling its seat count), sweet that he is back into representational politics and will be a performer in the lower House of Representatives.

Bunting has now won in three separate constituencies, namely South East Clarendon (1993), Manchester Central (2007) and now Manchester Southern (2025), a remarkable feat.

He will be one of the stars for the PNP in the lower Gordon House and can be assured to keep the Government on its toes.

There was a high turnout in Manchester Southern, higher than the national turnout, which helped the PNP win the seat.

So what now for Peter Bunting as he has a drink or two on his birthday?

Remain in good health, help the PNP get over the line next time, see to it that Proven prospers and guide his kids to be well-rounded individuals.

Happy birthday, PB. Keep rocking.
