

Today marks the 32nd birthday of Canadian singer Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, known professionally as The Weeknd. Making his first public appearance in 2011, the artiste has since then has released several projects with some memorable tunes.

8. Often
The fourth single from the Canadian singer’s, Beauty Behind The Madness album, this song was first released in 2014 as a stand-alone track, with the Or Nah Remix and the Drunk In Love Remix.
In 2015, it was revealed that the record would be the fourth single on his second studio album. Often was also the artiste’s second hit on the Hot 100. The song was produced by The Weeknd, DaHeala and Ben Billions.
7. Blinding Lights
The ninth track on 2020’s After Hours album, Blinding Lights is one of the project’s best. It finds the Canadian singer in a constant state of distraction and he only gets relief when in the presence of his significant other.
Produced by Oscar Holter, Max Martin and The Weeknd, the 2019 track was leaked days prior to its release.
6. I Feel It Coming
Produced by the great French electronic duo, Daft Punk, I Feel It Coming is inspired by House and 80s’ pop. It is the 18th track on the singer’s Starboy album.
The catchy and danceable song drew more comparisons between him and King of Pop Michael Jackson. I Feel It Coming speaks about wanting more from a friendship.
5. Save Your Tears
The After Hours record zooms in on his past relationship and explores the experiences he and his partner endured. He shares his regret for running away from the romance and breaking her heart. However, he also provides no emotional support for his ex.

4. The Hills
In this plummeting sexual affair, The Weeknd explains to his love interest what she means to him and reminds her that she is equally guilty in the affair.
Reaching number 1 on The Hot 100, the track originally debuted under the title Mood Music.
3. Earned It
The Weeknd’s breakthrough solo song, Earned It served as part of the soundtrack for the adaption Fifty Shades of Grey.
The track was also featured on his Beauty Behind The Madness album. Earned It was one of spring 2015’s biggest radio singles. It also won a Grammy for Best R&B Performance.
2. Starboy
Starboy, the first track on his 2016 album of the same name, is The Weeknd’s alter ego. The song also featured production from the French duo, Daft Punk, and marked the artistes’ first collaboration.
A day prior to Starboy‘s release, The Weeknd teased it with a tweet saying, “I come alive in the fall time.”
1. Can’t Feel My Face
Produced by Max Martin and Ali Payami, Can’t Fell My Face personifies drug addiction, likening it to the love of a woman. Classified as classic pop by critics, this track also gained The Weeknd comparisons to the sound of Michael Jackson.
