Legendary Jamaican gospel singers Carlene Davis and Marvia Providence delivered a musical masterclass at the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival’s ‘Kingdom Night’ on Wednesday (May 8) at the Pidgeon Island National Landmark.
Kingdom Night is dedicated to infusing the spirit of worship and fun with cultural celebration and Caribbean identity. Headlined by multiple Grammy award winner Donnie McClurkin, it also showcased performances from St Lucian gospel groups Urban Praise and Adoration and Praise, as well as artistes Tabitha C Prospere and Nigela St Clair-Daniel.

Among the performances, a spritely 71-year-old Carlene Davis gave a supercharged performance that incorporated various styles from Caribbean culture throughout history.
Our Today was there to share key moments from the performances.

Speaking with Our Today, Guyanese social media influencer Stacey Rahaman said, “Gospel Kingdom Night was nothing short of incredible. It was by far the largest gathering for a gospel show I’ve personally ever seen.”
