Hollywood Unlocked CEO Jason Lee is today (February 25) admitting that the US outlet’s report on the death of Queen Elizabeth II was incorrect, days after standing by the controversial article.

In the latest update, Lee, apologising for the misleading information, shared an article on Friday in which Hollywood Unlocked listed ’10 reasons they thought’ the Queen was dead.

Claiming “all news outlets get it wrong sometimes despite their best efforts”, the company stressed, “we will always take full accountability when that happens”.

“And based on Wednesday’s report from the Palace, I can say my sources got this wrong and I sincerely apologise to The Queen and the Royal Family,” Lee clarified Thursday afternoon.

The public apology comes days after Lee dismissed a “fake account” for speaking on his company’s behalf following the backlash towards Hollywood Unlocked‘s now-viral article, published on February 21.
