Holness insists situation in St James merits SOE

Rampant lawlessness, violent criminality and an upsurge in gang brutality in the parish of St James has led Prime Minister Andrew Holness declaring a state of emergency (SOE).

The Government’s decision, announced during a press conference at Jamaica House on Wednesday (November 7), is supported by both the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) and the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF).
