Long-standing CEO of PROVEN Group Christopher Williams will demit his position, effective January 31, 2025, and is not leaving Proven.

In fact, he will remain very much a part of the group he helped co-found and lead for most of this new century to date.

Williams, a top investment banker for decades, held a unique position in that he was both a co-founder and lead executive of a top Jamaican finance house that expanded into the wider Caribbean.

His fifteen-year tenure as Proven boss was characterised by savvy-know-how, charisma and great marketing.

Speaking to Our Today about the end of this particular chapter, Williams said: “PROVEN was started with four co-founders and that team is still intact and we are doing well. Over the last 15 years when we would meet, I was an executive and the others were the elders. Now I join them as an elder.

“I want to make it clear that I’m not going away or joining another group. I will still be available to talk deals, I will still have the same telephone number and e-mail address. I’m still with team PROVEN, only no longer involved in the day-to-day activity of operating the business. I will be serving on PROVEN boards and will be playing a mentoring role. I will not be selling a single share.”

The other co-founders of PROVEN Group are Peter Bunting, Mark Golding and Garfield Sinclair.

“The Fantastic Four” as they started as, have built and diversified PROVEN where today it has a wealth management division, a property arm, an investments business and a bank. It has also extended its footprint into St Lucia, Cayman Islands, Bermuda, US Virgin Islands, The Bahamas and Barbados.

Chris Williams turned Proven into a US billion-dollar Caribbean-focused private equity company.

“I want to tell the shareholders and clients that we are 150 per cent focused on delivering for you. We are the same team and I am in a slightly different role,” declared Williams.
