iCreate Institute has been selected for another year as a training partner for the NCB Foundation Level-Up Grant Programme.

The Level-Up Grant Programme was rolled out last year by NCB Foundation in partnership with iCreate Institute, Northern Caribbean University and Internet Income Jamaica Limited. In the first phase of the Level-Up Grant Programme, NCB Foundation provided up to $25 million in grants for Jamaicans who were unemployed due to COVID-19.

Under the programme, persons who lost their job as a result of the pandemic can apply for a grant to receive short-term training from any of the three NCB Foundation training partner institutions in certain designated areas.

Nadeen Matthews Blair, chief executive officer of NCB Foundation.

Nadeen Matthews Blair, chief executive officer of NCB Foundation, said: “These grants for short-term online courses allow us to stay true to our roots and core focus on education and our push towards enhancing digital literacy and adoption. At the same time, it creates a pathway for unemployed persons to resume earning income to support themselves and their families. This is critical as our attention turns to jump starting the economy and minimising increases in poverty.

iCreate increases its educational programmes to over 12

iCreate Institute, which is listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange, has announced that it has increased the number of educational programmes to more than 12. These include Coding and Data/Cyber-Security with Code Fellows, which offers world-class software development training, where students receive in-person instruction from successful industry practitioners in an immersive environment.

From Code 101 to Code 401, each course introduces students to careers in software development and trains them to become professional software developers.

The NCB Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited; Jamaica’s largest commercial bank.

The NCB Foundation’s primary mandate is to develop – through education – the intellectual capital of Jamaica and create ideal workers for the Jamaican economy.
