Back in 2018, he was appointed chief financial officer (CFO) of Supreme Ventures, having completed his tenure as CEO of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ).
David McConnell, the then chairman of Supreme Ventures, said of Chung at the time of his appointment: “Dennis has achieved success at the highest levels of corporate entities and is spearheading successful initiatives at both the corporate and national levels. Given our plans for growing the business, that experience will be significantly valuable to SVL’s strategy and execution.”
In March of this year, Nickesha Eulette resigned as Supreme Ventures Limited’s vice-president of finance, with Chung standing in as an interim appointment.
In March of 2019, Chung filled in as interim CEO of Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL) when Major Hugh Blake resigned from that position.
Additionally, in November of that same year, Chung was appointed CEO of Supreme Ventures Shared Services, a subsidiary of the parent company.
Supreme Ventures chairman Gary Peart, explaining the appointment, said: “We are strengthening out [the] team [and] our capabilities to enable our continued development through regional expansion. This move enables us to leverage our talent pool to enable increased focus and development in critical growth areas, while ensuring that our local operations are fully maximised. The strategy is to bring even more increased value to our shareholders.”
The idea behind Supreme Ventures Services Limited spearheaded by Dennis Chung was to create a business hub and to provide back office and business support services as an additional revenue arm.
Chung also serves as chairman of the National Solid Waste Management Agency (NSWMA), is a board director and chairman of GK Capital’s audit committee. He is also a past president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ).
