The Jamaica Meteorological Service says citizens can expect increased rainfall across much of the island starting today (June 4), due to unstable weather conditions building in the central Caribbean.
A tropical wave currently across the central Caribbean is expected to move into the vicinity of Jamaica, bringing showers and thunderstorm activity beginning Tuesday afternoon and continuing through to Friday.

The forecast is for periods of showers and thunderstorms to affect most parishes, especially in the afternoons with the most intense rainfall expected across eastern parishes during the period.
Fisherfolk and other marine interests should exercise caution as sea conditions will deteriorate in the vicinity of showers, thunderstorms, and gusty winds.
The Met Service says it will continue to monitor this system.
