Innovative Systems launches inaugural Amateur Tennis Classic

Innovative Systems Limited launched the first of its 2023 Amateur Tennis Series, the Innovative Invitational Amateur Tennis Classic.

The inaugural tournament will feature amateur players competing in the Men’s Open, Men’s Class 2 and the Ladies B categories. The tournament is set to commence on June 12, 2023, at the Liguanea Club, New Kingston.

In collaboration with the Llockett McGregor Tennis Series, Innovative Systems Limited has committed to being on board for the next three years as title sponsor for this event and is amped up to witness its success.

Garth Walker, Executive Chairman of Innovative Systems Limited, said the tournament is an opportunity to develop Jamaica’s sports industry.

“The Innovative Systems team is excited about this tournament, as it provides an avenue for us to aid in the development of the sport. Additionally, it loans us the opportunity to foster the growth of the talented athletes who will be showcasing their expertise at the tournament,” said Walker.

The Innovative Invitational Amateur Tennis Classic has received in excess of 90 entries to date. The athletes will be competing for a cash prize of J$100,000 and other sectional prizes. The tournament will run from June 12 to June 17, with matches commencing at 5pm Monday to Friday, and an hour earlier on the final day.

The tournament will officially end with a closing ceremony on June 17 at 7pm, where the winners will be awarded.

He noted that the Company has always placed importance on the development of sports in Jamaica. While it has always fostered the support of sporting events on a small scale, this is Innovative’s first time being the headline sponsor of a Tennis tournament.
