The latest noteworthy update from popular social media platform Instagram on July 18 offers users a brand new way to share their comments on a post with the new ‘notes’ feature.

The update enables users to share notes on posts from mutual and close in real-time, and see others’ reactions while scrolling. Your notes can only be seen by your friends and you can share them with followers you follow back or those in your “close friends” group.

The add note feature appears once the user clips the share (paper plane) that is to the right of the comment icon. You can also delete notes and re-add.

Notes on feed posts and Reels are visible for up to three days in the app, not on a web browser.

So far into 2024, Instagram has had over twenty small updates, from being able to edit direct messages (DMs), and pin-chat options to changes to its algorithm. The Meta-owned platform has been innovating rapidly, trying to keep Instagram fun for users.
