Students and teachers preparing for the upcoming Primary Exit Profile (PEP) and Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations will benefit from two free mathematics workshops.

The sessions, scheduled for February 26 and 28, are being organised by the Institute of Jamaica (IOJ) through the National Museum, Jamaica (NMJ).

Dr Ajani Ausaru, assistant lecturer in the Mathematics Department at the University of the West Indies (UWI), will lead the workshops, providing participants with innovative and efficient methods to tackle maths challenges and improve exam performance.

Alexis McDavid, education and outreach officer at the NMJ, explained said the workshops are designed to address the urgent need for effective mathematics intervention.

“Our goal is to ensure that both teachers and students who participate in these workshops leave with enhanced strategies for success in their assessments,” she told JIS News.

McDavid said that due to overwhelming response to the registration request the workshops will be held in-person at the IOJ Lecture Hall, 10-16 East Street, Kingston, and via livestream on the NMJ’s YouTube channel.
