The Jamaica College team prepare to resume their match.

Four teams will battle for two spots in the Inter-secondary Schools’ Sports Association Digicel Manning Cup final as Jamaica College (JC) tackle St Catherine High at 3:00 pm before Kingston College (KC) and Hydel High meet at 6:00 pm at the National Stadium, in what are expected to be two enthralling semi-finals.

Jamaica College are coming off a morale-sapping 1-3 loss to Glenmuir High in the all-island Champions Cup final on Saturday and it is left to be seen how well they have recovered.

However, when it comes to the Manning Cup, JC have no peers, being the most successful school with 31 titles and eight in the last 14 years.

JC have been pierced only once this season and Coach Daveon Ferguson and his staff will make sure the gentlemen are ready for battle.

The St Catherine High team celebrate a goal.

The impressive Dyllan John will again lead the charge along with the likes of Nashordo Gibbs, Jabari Howell, Jamoy Dennis and young Giovanni Taylor.

The Anthony Patrick-coached St Catherine High are a dangerous team and were the pre-season favourites.

Having won the Walker Cup twice in recent times, St Catherine are looking to step up and lift the more prestigious Manning Cup.

The team has at least six players who helped Racing United gain promotion to the Premier League, and if they can replicate that form they could well be in the final.

They have played JC twice and drawn twice in a pre-season match and a second-round game. Who will be third-time lucky is left to be seen.

Meanwhile, the second semifinal should also be an interesting one as both Hydel High and KC seek revenge.

Last year, Hydel defeated KC on penalties at this very same semi-final stage and last month KC humiliated them 6-1 in the second round.

The famed Purples are more rested than Hydel, having dropped out at the first stage in the Champions Cup. Only time will tell if that downtime will work in their favour or not.

KC will be depending on the likes of Deshawn Byfield, Demario Dailey, Matrim Martin, Damaine Smith while Hydel will be looking towards Keyanni Jackson, Ronaldo Barrett, Dontae Brooks and Raheem Green for victory.
