Not something you see everyday: Ed Sheeran’s recent Dutch interview praising Ishawna’s song ‘Equal Rights’—a “really filthy” song done on the instrumental of mega-pop hit ‘Shape of You’.

Weeks after receiving praise from Ed Sheeran for her lyrical creativity, Jamaican dancehall maven Ishawna today (November 9) confirmed that she and the British pop superstar are working on a collaboration.

Ishawna, in an Instagram post on Tuesday, told fans that she was excited at the prospects after Sheeran “let the cat out the bag” in an interview on the Halfcast Podcast show.

“I was trying soooo hard to keep this a secret but since Ed Sheeran has let the cat out of the bag, it’s only right I share the good news!!!! IT’S OFFICIAL GUYS!!! ED SHEERAN & ISHAWNA COLLAB COMING SOON,” the Equal Rights artiste wrote.

When asked by host ChuckyOnline, the Bad Habits crooner beamed at the upcoming collab, adding that Ishawna had him “singing in patois”.

“Ishawna has got me singing patois with her. I was like ‘I don’t know’ and she was like ‘Trust me, Kingston slang, they’re gonna [expletive deleted] love it’, so she’s got me singing. I’m actually going to record my bits after this,” Sheeran said in a clip of the show posted by Ishawna.

It was roughly a month ago since the 30-year-old Grammy Award-winner showered much praise on Ishawna for her provocative remix of megahit Shape of You, but it seems the mutual love between Ed Sheeran and Ishawna is only just beginning to bloom.
