Not something you see everyday: Ed Sheeran’s recent Dutch interview praising Ishawna’s song ‘Equal Rights’—a “really filthy” song done on the instrumental of mega-pop hit ‘Shape of You’.

The summer is off to a magical start for dancehall vixen Ishawna, who is today (June 22) teasing a snippet of her new track Brace It with British pop superstar Ed Sheeran.

The 15-second teaser has both artistes harmonising what appears to be the bridge of Brace It, which will be made available on major digital streaming platforms this Friday.

Checks by Our Today note that the track is being released under the Warner UK Music Label.

“Me and @teddysphotos want to turn things up a bit…shall we??!! BRACE IT out this FRIDAY,” said the songstress on Wednesday.

The pair has come a long way since October 2021, when Sheeran went viral for showering Ishawna with praise for her versatility and creativity on the Equal Rights remix.

The risqué remix sampled the beat from Sheeran’s mega hit Shape Of You, which earned the star his first Grammy award for Best Pop Performance.

Sheeran, speaking on the Halfcast Podcast show a month later, admitted that Ishawna had him “singing in patois”, and together, they would be working on a track.

“Ishawna has got me singing patois with her. I was like ‘I don’t know’ and she was like ‘Trust me, Kingston slang, they’re gonna [expletive deleted] love it’, so she’s got me singing. I’m actually going to record my bits after this,” Sheeran said in a clip of the show posted by Ishawna.

Some 48 hours away from Brace It‘s release, fans are brimming with anticipation after Ishawna teased a taste of what’s to come.
