Island Car Rentals, Jamaica’s largest car rental company, was once again recognised as best in class at the recent World Travel Awards (WTA) held on October 4, at a Gala Awards Ceremony in St Lucia.
For the 15th consecutive year, Island Car Rentals walked away with the award for being Jamaica’s Leading Car Rental Company. It’s a category that Island has dominated since it was first introduced by the WTA in 2011.
Island completed the double on the night by also walking away with the award for the Caribbean’s Leading Independent Car Rental Company. It’s an honour Island has accepted every year since the award was introduced at the WTA in 2014.
Island’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Ryan Parkes and General Manager Dulcie Moody were on hand to collect the prestigious awards on the company’s behalf.
Parkes says, “It’s with humility and a sense of gratitude that I accept these awards and the international recognition that comes with them. The awards solidify and burnish our reputation in the market. It’s a reputation forged by the work of an outstanding team, constantly working and innovating to establish and maintain service standards that meet the expectations of all our clients”.
With the company in expansion mode, Parkes says the awards will serve as a boost to team members as they work to offer even more services and convenience to Island’s customers.
Island Car Rentals recently established a hub at Ian Fleming International Airport to serve passengers arriving at that airport on American Airlines flights from Miami.
The location is also expected to serve clients in Boscobel and Ocho Rios, along with other parts of St Ann and St Mary. The company also added a truck rental service to its suite of offerings in May this year to target both commercial and residential clients for their logistics needs. Parkes further added that Island is firmly positioned to provide value to all customers from a deliberate diversification strategy being pursued over the next three years.
