The Under-19 schoolboy football will resume on Friday and Saturday, according to the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA) following another emergency meeting today.
However, the Under-14 and Under-16 competitions will resume on Thursday, November 7.
Both the urban Manning Cup and rural daCosta Cup along with the Under-14 and Under-16 competitions were suspended on Monday as Tropical Storm Rafael approached the island, forcing the postponement of games scheduled for Tuesday.
“Please note that the start of the quarter-finals of the daCosta and Manning cups have been rescheduled to be played on Friday, November 8, and Saturday, November 9. The revised schedules will soon be posted,” said ISSA statement.
ISSA will also release the updated schedules for the U14 and U16 matches and have advised fans, players and coaches to check the official ISSA website and social media channels for the revised fixtures.
Tropical Storm Rafael has caused quite a stir in Jamaica’s sports scene, hitting the island with constant heavy rains and winds from Monday evening.
The storm has led also to the postponement of several matches in the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League and all other sports.
