

Today (April 27), the world celebrates the work and efforts of women globally who work in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector.
ICT Day was established by International Telecommunication Union (ITU) on April 22, 2011, to encourage more girls and women to consider a career path in the ICT sector.
As Jamaica joins the world in celebrating women working in ICT globally, here is a list of some of Jamaica’s very own women who are dominating the ICT field.
Monique Powell

Monique Powell is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Quick Cart formerly known as QuickPlate, one of the largest food and grocery delivery platforms in the English-speaking Caribbean.
Powell has spent the last 19 years helping businesses of all sizes to leverage the Internet. She has also always been passionate about web-based technology and the various ways businesses can use it to connect with customers, improve customer care and increase sales.
She is now channelling that knowledge and energy into helping restaurants and retail merchants drive sales through QuickCart (formerly QuickPlate).
Dr Moniphia Hewling

Dr Monifa Hewling is the Chief Executive Officer of KanICan, a consulting company that helps companies to identify gaps in their security of infrastructure, offers a comprehensive report that includes timelines and milestones, a cost analysis, and a schedule.
Dr Hewling is also the Founder and Director of Cybersafeja – eMRock Foundation, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of youth in the rural areas of Jamaica through the use of technology and continuing her passion for increasing awareness of cybercrimes and human trafficking online.
She is also an avid researcher who has published papers in the field of cyber as well as presented at a number of international conferences and is the recipient of international fellowships in the field.
Kadia Francis

Kadia Francis is the founder of Digital Jamaica, a tech-based information and knowledge-sharing hub for Jamaicans.
She launched the company in December 2018 to create a space where digital and tech creatives and professionals are supported and promoted in their growth process.
Kadia is also the founder of The Digital Disruption Agency, a digital literacy and skills development agency.
Her aim is to prepare Jamaicans for the future of work.
Racquel Seville

Raquel Seville is the Chief Executive Officer of Bi Brainz Caribbean, a company that provides data leaders with the support, tools and techniques they need to deliver to provide world-class service on projects.
Racquel has a passion for pulling insights from data and has worked with and led big data and analytics teams for over a decade.
The data analytics guru is also the author of SAP OpenUI5 for Mobile BI and Analytics.
She helped to launch BI Brainz Caribbean in 2017, where she serves as the CEO.
Monique McIntosh

Monique McIntosh is a digital marketing strategist for Sky Blue Transactions, a local tech company which offers digital solutions for local businesses such as eZeePayments, a local payments processor and school fee payments, a solution which allows schools to accept online payments including school fees, books, lunch money, uniform payments, and others.
She is passionate about helping entrepreneurs leverage digital marketing to accelerate their business & optimize their conversions.
The marketing strategist also works with the Balanced Lady Boss Stacey Hines, Chief Executive Officer of Femme Powered, a community designed to support female leaders in creating success without stress while supporting them with a community of like-minded women in leadership.
McIntosh is very active in the digital space and teaches digital marketing courses. She recently concluded a digital entrepreneurship course at the Northern Caribbean University and a social media course at the HEART/NSTA Trust.
