American hip hop lyricist J. Cole will release his next album, The Off-Season, next Friday (May 14).

The German-born rapper, formally known as Jermaine Lamarr Cole, announced his new LP on Twitter earlier today (May 4), sharing what is seemingly the album cover along with a short caption: “Just know this was years in the making.”

The Off-Season will be J. Cole’s sixth studio album, following his 2018 release of KOD–  a great album that is still fire to this day!

2019 was also a fruitful year for the underdog rapper who offered a Dreamville Record compilation, titled Revenge of the Dreamers III.

In 2020 the Love Yourz rapper released two singles, The Climb Back and Lion King on Ice.

Reportedly, the 2020 singles were supposed to appear on his next album, then titled The Fall Off; however, fans are uncertain if they’ll now appear on The Off-Season LP, or if The Fall Off remains a separate project to be released later.

Who knows? Who cares? J. Cole is a lyrical genius backed by true authenticity.

Cannot wait for either The Fall-off or The Off-Season!

Either LP would be worth the listen!
