Martial artist and actor Jackie Chan has announced that Rush Hour 4 is in the works.
During his appearance at the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia today (December 8), the 68-year-old told the audience that “we’re talking about part four right now”.
The first ‘Rush Hour’ film was released in 1998, with Chan starring alongside American actor Chris Tucker, delivering a comedic and action packed film.
Within the first week of its release, the movie made US$70 million at the box office, earning US$244 million in total at the global box office.
Its success prompted directors of the film to turn the movie into a series, releasing Rush Hour 2 in 2001 and Rush Hour 3 in 2007.

Both films did extremely well, but when talks about a Rush Hour 4 surfaced in April of 2019, Chan and his team denied the return of the iconic series, stating that it was just rumours.
Now Chan has confirmed that he will return for the the fourth film in the series. There has been no word from Tucker as yet confirming that he will return for the film.
Though it is not certain who will direct the upcoming film, Chan reportedly also announced that he would meet with the director to go over the script for the movie.
Brett Ratner, the director for the previous movies, has been away from the big screen since sexual misconduct allegations were brought against him by six women in 2014. There has been no announcement made that he will return to direct the fourth movie.
