Team Jamaica is aiming for a first place finish ahead of their rivals, Team Canada, at the Rugby Americas North (RAN) Super Sevens Tournament this weekend (November 11-13).

Jamaica is sending three teams to the tournament – the under-18 sevens team captained by Mason Campbell, the men’s senior team captained by Lucas Roy-Smith and the women’s senior team captained by Lauryn Walker.

Bruce Campbell, technical director for sevens at the Jamaica Rugby Union, shared with Our Today that at the last RAN tournament this past April, Jamaica managed to come first in the Caribbean but second overall behind team Canada.

Team Jamaica’s under-18 team plays their first three games today (November 11) versus Team Mexico, British Virgin Islands (BVI) and Trinidad and Tobago.
