Jamaica captures 45 awards at 2025 WTA Caribbean & North America gala

Jamaica continues to reign as the Caribbean’s tourism powerhouse, capturing 45 awards at the 2025 World Travel Awards Caribbean & North America Gala Ceremony held in Saint Lucia on October 4. 

The island secured 29 regional and 16 national titles, including Caribbean’s Leading Destination for the 19th consecutive year, with the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) winning the Caribbean’s Leading Tourist Board award for the 17th year in a row. Jamaica also claimed top titles for Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Destination, Caribbean’s Leading Family Travel Destination, and celebrated wins for the Ports of Ocho Rios and Montego Bay, recognised as the region’s top cruise and home ports, respectively. 

Among the standout winners were Sandals Resorts International, Half Moon, GoldenEye, Round Hill Hotel & Villas, Island Car Rentals, Island Routes, Chukka Caribbean Adventures and Princess Grand Jamaica, with accolades spanning luxury, romance, family, attraction and car rental categories.

The Montego Bay Convention Centre retained the title of the Caribbean’s Leading Meetings & Conference Centre. Sangster International Airport, and Club Mobay also maintained their dominance in the leading airport and airport lounge categories respectively. 

One of the night’s biggest winners was GO! Jamaica Travel, taking home four awards including the Caribbean’s Leading Destination Management Company. These wins reaffirm Jamaica’s position as a global leader in hospitality and underscore the destination’s continued commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth in tourism.

Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett, hailed the achievement saying, “It is truly heartening to see Jamaica consistently perform at such a high level despite the challenges faced in recent times. This performance is testament to the resilience and commitment of Destination Jamaica and our remarkable tourism stakeholders.”
