The new digital entry form for incoming passengers to Jamaica will become mandatory on September 1.
“Arriving in Jamaica just got easier,” declared Jamaica’s Director of Tourism Donovan White.
As of this date, all travellers must fill out this form prior to entry into Jamaica. The new online passenger declaration form is aimed at easing and hastening the entry process for all arrivals at the country’s airports.
The form can be filled out before departure, on your flight or upon arrival — although obviously doing so before you depart is the best option. The move is part of a broader trend to digitise the entry process at airports across the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), with Jamaica being the first Caribbean territory to implement the new system.
The Online Passenger Declaration (C5) Platform was conceptualised by the Passport, Immigration and Citizen Agency (PICA), in collaboration with the Jamaica Customs Agency. Both agencies launched the online version of the C5 Form back in July 2019, designed to capture the same information as the manual version.
This system is a first in CARICOM, which will allow for more efficient processing of air passengers and baggage at the island’s international airports. The Online Passenger Declaration Platform provides passengers with a flexible option for completing the declaration form, thereby reducing waiting and processing times at both the Immigration and Customs halls.
Travellers who use this service can fill out the online form once they have booked their flight, or en route to Jamaica.
