Leroy ‘Lizzy’ Mitchell, the Jamaica Labour Party candidate for Walderston Division in North East Manchester, has died.

The Jamaica Labour Party shared the sad news on Friday, October 4 via a post on X (formerly Twitter).

“We regret the passing of former Councillor for the Walderston Division in North East Manchester, Leroy ‘Lizzy’ Mitchell. May his family, friends and colleagues be comforted in this time. We are tremendously grateful for Mr Mitchell’s contribution. Rest Well, Lizzy!” the JLP said.

Mitchell, who was a long-serving JLP councillor, was defeated by the People’s National Party’s (PNP) David Knight in the Local Government Election.
