The Jamaica Olympic Ice Hockey Federation has revealed the core group of players set to carry the nation’s hopes into the upcoming Challenger Series, as the team looks to reclaim the title.

Leading the charge is captain Taos Jordan, alongside a mix of forwards, defenders, and goaltenders drawn from leagues across North America and Europe.

The squad blends experience and youth, with players competing in Canada, the United States, and Poland, reflecting the growing reach of Jamaica’s ice hockey programme. Among the names included are Maleek McGowan, Koby Francis, and Jahwara Rennalls, as the team builds a strong foundation heading into the tournament.

Jamaica made a powerful entrance in 2024, capturing the inaugural Challenger Series crown with wins over Puerto Rico and Lebanon. However, they fell short in 2025, with Greece taking the title after the competition expanded. Now, with five teams set to battle it out including Puerto Rico, Lebanon, Greece, and an Indian Heritage side the road back to the top will be tougher.

The tournament begins in Chicago on May 6th , with points carrying over to the second leg in Montreal from July 8th  to 12th . Beyond chasing the trophy, the matches are part of a bigger plan to grow Jamaica’s presence in international ice hockey and move closer to Olympic qualification, echoing the path carved out by the country’s bobsled programme.
