Jamaica nominated for the 30th annual World Travel Awards

The island of Jamaica popularly known as the land of wood and water, has been selected as a nominee for the 30th annual World Travel Awards.

The country has been nominated in eight categories which include:

  • Caribbean’s Leading Adventure Tourism Destination
  • Caribbean’s Leading Beach Destination 2023
  • Caribbean’s Leading Cruise Destination 2023
  • Caribbean’s Leading Cultural Destination 2023
  • Caribbean’s Leading Destination 2023
  • Caribbean’s Leading Honeymoon Destination 2023
  • Caribbean’s Leading Nature Destination 2023
  • Caribbean’s Most Romantic Destination 2023

Other categories for Caribbean nominees include the Caribbean’s Leading Airports, the Caribbean’s Leading Cabin Crew, the Caribbean’s Leading Adventure Tourist Attraction, the Caribbean’s Leading Water Parks and among others.

Jamaica is set to go up against Antigua and Barbuda, Cuba, the British Virgin Islands, The Bahamas and a host of other Caribbean countries to claim the top spot for each category.

Voting is now open and will run until July 9 at midnight.

Individuals can visit the World Travel Awards website to vote for their favourite travel destinations.

The winners of each category will attend the World Travel Awards Caribbean and the Americas, Gala Ceremony on August 23 at the Sandals Grande in St Lucia.

In 2022, Jamaica was named the Caribbean’s Leading Destination for the 16th straight year. Jamaica was also named the Caribbean’s Leading Tourist Board Destination for the 14th straight year, the Caribbean Cruise Destination and the Caribbean’s Leading Nature Destination.

The World Travel Wards was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industry.
