Robert Simpson and Maureen Caesar have been selected to represent Jamaica at the 2022 World Bowls Indoor Championships set for the City & County of Bristol Indoor Bowling Club, Bristol, England from April 25 to 29.

The two-member team will compete in the Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles and Mixed Pairs disciplines. The championships will also mark the debut of Jamaica’s partnership with Kukri that will outfit the Jamaica Lawn Bowls team with competition apparel and merchandise.

“This is a significant commercial deal for the Jamaica Lawn Bowling Association to partner with Kukri Sports,” said Horane Brown, president and director of the Jamaica Lawn Bowling Association.

“As we move forward in developing the sport of Lawn Bowls, this puts us on the perfect path for growth showcasing, Brand Jamaica designs.”

In the meantime, Jamie Williams, sales director at Kukri Sports North America, said their partnership with Jamaica will help grow its footprint in the region.

“Our design team was incredibly excited to work with the instantly recognizable colours of Jamaica and we are confident that we will be able to create a unique identity for the players and supporters that they can be proud of,” Williams said.

“We are committed to growing our footprint within the Caribbean and so we are looking forward to seeing the product on athletes at local and international events moving forward.”
