Jamaica shaken by 4.5-magnitude earthquake

A 4.5-magnitude earthquake was felt in sections of Jamaica on Tuesday, August 20.

According to the Earthquake Unit located at the University of the West Indies, Mona, campus, the earthquake occurred at 3:20 am.

The epicentre of the quake was located approximately 20 km north of Port Antonio, Portland. The tremor was reportedly felt in St. Thomas, Kingston, St. Andrew, and Portland.

It follows the 4.7-magnitude earthquake that was felt in sections of Jamaica on Friday (August 16).
