Jamaica Sotheby’s Realty and Tryall Club, have joined forces to host the inaugural ECO Run, a five-kilometre race to be held at the grounds of the uber-exclusive Montego Bay-based villa on August 18.
A clarion call for environmental action is being sounded in paradise.
The ECO Run aims to celebrate Jamaica’s beauty and serve as a clarion call for protecting the country’s marine environment. Proceeds from the race will be used to contribute to the Montego Bay Marine Park, the Oracabessa Bay Turtle Project and the Tryall Education Fund.
The Montego Bay Marine Park shields Jamaica’s coral reefs, a haven for marine life and a natural barrier that safeguards coastlines.
The Oracabessa Bay Turtle Project protects several Jamaican sea turtle species’ populations.
The Tryall Education Fund is an initiative aiming to foster a love for the environment and education among Jamaican youth.
Julian Dixon, CEO of Jamaica Sotheby’s Realty, said, “Our island’s essence is inextricably linked to its healthy oceans. The ECO Run allows us to celebrate this vital resource while supporting the heroes safeguarding its future. Partnering with Tryall Club on this impactful event is a true honour.”
Richard Ferdinand, Tryall Club director of club operations, shared Dixon’s sentiment.
“Tryall Club has a longstanding commitment to environmental responsibility. We are beyond proud to lend not only our stunning location but also our unwavering support to the ECO Run. This race is a powerful symbol of unity, a chance for the community to come together and ensure a healthy future for the beating heart of our island – its vibrant marine ecosystems,” he added.
The 5K course will wind its way through the Tryall Club, offering participants a chance for a scenic running experience.
