

Recording a marginal two-spot jump this year, Barbados remains the most powerful passport to hold in the Caribbean for a ninth consecutive year, ranking 20th in the world with visa-free access to 165 countries globally.
While improving by eight places to tie with Guyana in this month’s update to the 2024 Henley Passport Index, published today (July 23), Jamaica still boasts the weakest regional passport, which grants visa-free travel to 89 countries.
The index, a brainchild of creators Henley & Partners, over the last 19 years has used data provided by the International Air Transport Authority (IATA) and supplemented, enhanced, and updated using extensive in-house research and open-source online data to determine the strongest passports in the world by comparing 199 passports against all 227 possible travel destinations.
Here are the top 10 passports in the English-speaking Caribbean for visa-free travel:
10. Jamaica and Guyana

Both countries finished at fifty-fifth in the world and passport holders from either of the two countries can now visit 89 countries worldwide visa-free.
9. Dominica

Up next is Dominica, finishing at 32nd in the world moving up three places even though holders can visit 143 countries worldwide visa-free down from 145 countries from last year.
8. Grenada

Just ahead of Dominica, finishing at 31st in the world is Grenada. Holders of a Grenadian passport can visit 147 countries worldwide visa-free.
7. St Lucia

Slightly ahead of Dominica and Grenada is St Lucia, which finishes at 30th in the world. Holders of a St Lucian passport can visit 148 countries worldwide visa-free, one more than last year.
6. Trinidad and Tobago

Trinidad and Tobago comes next finishing at 27th in the world. Trinidad and Tobago has moved up four places this year but has not gained the freedom to travel to any more countries visa-free. Holders of a Trinbagonina passport can still visit 151 countries worldwide visa-free.
5. Antigua and Barbuda

Placing ahead of Trinidad and Tobago this year is one of the Caribbean’s other twin-island nations, Antigua and Barbuda, ranked at 26th in the world. Holders of an Antiguan passport are now more powerful travel-wise and can also visit 153 countries worldwide visa-free.
4. St Vincent and the Grenadines

Finishing the highest among the Windward Islands again is St Vincent at rank 23 in the world an improvement by seven places. Holders of this passport can now visit 157 countries worldwide visa-free; five more than last year and matching St Kitts and Nevis.

St Kitts and Nevis has fallen by two places in the Caribbean making it tied for the fourth highest position, finishing at 26th place worldwide. Holders of a Kittitian passport can travel to 157 countries worldwide visa-free.
2. The Bahamas

The Bahamas claims the second-highest place in the Caribbean ranking 21st in the world moving up six places. Holders of a Bahamian passport can travel to 161 countries worldwide visa-free; six more than last year.
1. Barbados

Barbados retains its spot as the highest-placed Caribbean country in the world finishing at the 20th place worldwide. Holders of a Bajan passport can visit 165 countries worldwide visa-free.
