Jamaica Teas eyeing bigger market share in Trinidad and Tobago

Jamaican foods manufacturer, Jamaica Teas Group, is aiming to carve out an even greater market share in Trinidad and Tobago (T&T), where it exports manufactured products.

To this end, Jamaica Teas has appointed Alston Marketing Company Limited (AMCO) as its exclusive distributor in T&T. The appointment is effective September 25, 2023.

The deal covers Jamaica Teas-owned brand Caribbean Dreams and Tetley, which is manufactured under licence. AMCO is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Ansa McAL Group of Companies, one of the largest conglomerates in the region, boasting revenues exceeding US$1 billion.

The Ansa McAL Group encompasses over 27 subsidiary companies operating in multiple territories, including Jamaica, and is a listed company on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange. The move to appoint AMCO as exclusive distributor for Caribbean Dreams and Tetley products is projected to have a positive impact on sales going forward.
