As Jamaica Teas seeks to ramp up the distribution of its product lines throughout the length and breadth of Jamaica, the company has formally signed Wisynco, as its exclusive distributor in the island.

Wisynco replaces Amalgamated Distributors Limited, which has been distributing Jamaica Teas products for the past 30 years. The switch, which has been on the table from September this year, is now official.

In unveiling its exclusive distribution partnership with Wisynco, Jamaica Teas says it is “thrilled to announce our strategic alliance with Wisynco Group, a dynamic step forward in our journey. This partnership symbolizes our dedication to enhancing your shopping experience, combining our premium products with Wisynco’s distribution expertise.”

Speaking in an interview today with Our Today, Jamaica Teas CEO, John Mahfood said the change in distributorship comes, as the company pushes to get its products in every nook and cranny of Jamaica whilst pointing to the benefits of securing Wisynco as its distribution partner

Speaking in an interview today with Our Today, Jamaica Teas CEO, John Mahfood said the change in distributorship comes, as the company pushes to get its products in every nook and cranny of Jamaica whilst pointing to the benefits of securing Wisynco as its distribution partner

He explained that the decision to switch from Amalgamated Distributors Limited to Wisynco was a no-brainer considering that the former has a much smaller sales force than Wisynco and mostly distributes to supermarkets, wholesales and minimarts across the island. Pointing out that Jamaica Teas is now focussing on penetrating small shops, supermarkets and hotels across the island, which are currently being served by Wisynco, made the choice to switch even easier.

According to Mahfood “with small sales staff at Amalgamated Distributors; only suppling to large retail and wholesale outlets, our products weren’t getting to all market segments. So it was time to look at a company like Wisynco, which has a wider distribution network including small shops, hotels which are not currently by Amalgamated Distributors and gas stations.

He foresees exciting times based on this collaborative journey into the future with Wisynco. Jamaica Teas is currently in expansion mode, as it gets ready to move into its Temple Hall, rural St. Andrew factory space by January 2024. The new facility will boast 60,000 square-foot factory space on three acres of land.
