
The Jamaica Technology and Digital Alliance (JTDA) is unveiling a new executive team after recent elections at the ICT community advocate formerly known as the Jamaica Computer Society.
This milestone event took place on February 29, marking the beginning of a renewed journey towards innovation, empowerment, and community engagement.
The newly elected executive team, nominated and chosen by the members of the JTDA, consists of distinguished professionals who are poised to drive the organisation into its next chapter of growth and achievement:
● President: Almando Cox, CEO of Resolve IT
● Deputy president: Junior Darrell, Director of Global Sales, Optimity Group
● VP membership: Edward Taylor, Technology Solutions Manager, Hardware & Lumber
● VP of marketing and events: Deleen Powell, Business Communications Manager at Flow Jamaica
● VP of finance: Sandrene Brown – Rhooms, Chief Accountant, Free Form Factory Limited

● VP of Innovation and Education: Nathaniel Nation, Software Development Manager, MC Systems
● Council Members: Arthur Phidd, CIO (REEDS); Nicholas Samuels, ICT Manager eLearning Jamaica Limited; Kevin Cushine, Director of Engineering (MC Systems); and Jhanoy Nicholson, CEO (Smart Choice Solutions).

Under the guidance and support of Immediate Past President Adrian Dunkley, the JTDA has achieved remarkable growth and left an indelible mark on the technology sector in Jamaica. The organisation, as it commemorates its 49th year, remains committed to its mission of access, influence, and empowerment within the ICT community.
In 2024, the JTDA embarks on a series of initiatives designed to fortify the community and foster digital innovation.
The ‘My Membership Matters’ campaign aims to strengthen community bonds, while the Member Plus program, in collaboration with BCS, Chartered Institute of IT, enhances membership benefits.
The Jamaica Cyber Skills Initiative and the Tech Alliance Fund Crowdfunding Platform are set to provide pivotal support for tech projects and digital skills development.
Additionally, the annual BizTech Conference, aligning with JTDA’s 40th Anniversary, will convene industry leaders and visionaries, reinforcing the organisation’s role at the forefront of technological advancement.
“This year is not merely a celebration of our longstanding history but a recommitment to driving progress, innovation, and empowerment within Jamaica’s vibrant technology sector,” stated Almando Cox, the newly elected president. “Together, we stand on the brink of a transformative era, ready to leverage our collective expertise for the greater good of our community and nation.”
