Virgin Atlantic has confirmed a significant increase in its airlift to Jamaica, upgrading its London Heathrow to Montego Bay route from four weekly flights to a daily service, beginning on January 5, 2026, just in time for the busy winter travel season.

The new daily service will be operated by the state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, offering travellers enhanced comfort and reliability with alternating departure times to suit a variety of itineraries, including seamless connections from other European destinations. Departing London Heathrow with evening returns from Montego Bay, this increased frequency reflects growing demand from UK travellers eager to experience Jamaica’s vibrant culture, world-class hospitality, and stunning natural beauty.

This increased airlift marks a significant milestone in strengthening Jamaica’s connectivity with the UK and enhancing its position as the most popular holiday choice in the Caribbean for British travellers.

Edmund Bartlett, Minister of Tourism, added, “This is a win for Jamaica and for the thousands of Jamaicans and visitors who rely on this vital air bridge. Increased airlift is key to our tourism growth strategy and economic resilience. Virgin Atlantic’s decision to offer daily service is a testament to our island’s enduring appeal and our continued efforts to build strong airline partnerships.”

Donovan White, Director of Tourism, Jamaica Tourist Board expressed the importance of businesses meeting the demands of the tourism industry.

Donovan White, Director of Tourism, Jamaica Tourist Board, expressed, “We are excited to welcome this expanded service from Virgin Atlantic, which underscores the sustained interest and confidence in Jamaica as a top-tier travel destination.” He further added, “The UK remains an important source market, and this daily service will offer even more options for visitors from across Europe seeking to experience the warmth, culture, and natural beauty of Jamaica.”

Montego Bay, known for its stunning beaches, vibrant culture, and luxury resorts, continues to be a favourite among UK holidaymakers. The increased frequency is expected to support further growth in tourist arrivals and open new opportunities for investment and community development in Jamaica’s tourism sector.
